Kinnotake Sengokuhara

Kinnotake Sengokuhara

One of the most luxurious ryokans in the Hakone area, Kinnotake Sengokuhara was inspired by Japan’s famous 10th century folktale “Taketori Monogatari”, in which the beautiful and mysterious Princess Kaguya is discovered in the stalk of a bamboo plant, and eventually returns to the moon. It has been designed as a place of relaxation and as a quiet hideaway for adults, so reservations for children under 12 are not always accepted and must be discussed in advance.

Kinnotake Sengokuhara boasts 11 uniquely designed rooms and suites, ranging from 51sqm to 122sqm, looking out on to the mountains, and all with private hot spring baths. All rooms also include a private bathroom equipped with bath tub with bath robes and slippers. Some rooms have a seating area with views of either mountains or the ryokan’s garden.

Kinnotake Sengokuhara’s delicious kaiseki cuisine is prepared by Chef Iwai, who honed his skills in Kyoto. Meals are served in your room and are created from locally sourced seasonal ingredients.
